A little tap shoe talk 👞🎶
I’ll be honest—I originally bought my current tap shoes purely for aesthetic reasons (gold ✨ and a little heel? yes please). I love the shoes themselves, but the taps that came on them aren’t giving me the sound I’m looking for. So I just ordered a set of Bloch Techno taps to switch out the actual taps—we’ll see how it goes! I can’t wait to hear, feel, and experience the difference. The taps really do matter. That said, these not-great taps have probably made me a little stronger, since I’ve had to work extra hard to get the sound I want 😅. But better taps should let the sound come from technique and musicality, not force. For my beginners: I know you may not want to invest in expensive shoes right away—and that’s totally fine. Starting with something affordable from a solid brand like Bloch or Capezio can really help. The quality of the taps truly does make a difference. Trust me—your ears (and your confidence) will thank you 👞💛 And yes… start with a good, affordable shoe for sound—unfortunately they usually only come in black or tan. When the taps are basic but your personality is not 😏(Yes, these were spray-painted.) follow this link for example of good affordable basic taps https://us.blochworld.com/products/ladies-dance-now-student-jazz-tap-shoes-black-synthetic-leather?variant=31741147054179&_gsid=ZsVHUSuJvWCQ&utm_source=chatgpt.com
