Here’s a simple truth:
Water doesn’t boil at 98°C.
Not at 99°C either.
It boils at 100°C.
That final degree makes everything happen.
It’s what separates global icons from unknowns.
What separates those who win from those who almost do.
It’s not about doing a little more than everyone else.
It’s about doing whatever it takes.
Most people believe effort = results.
“If I put in 30%, I get 30% out.”
“If I give 70%, I’ll see 70% of the outcome.”
That’s linear thinking. And it’s dead wrong.
They assume doing more than the average person means they’ll get above-average outcomes.
But it doesn’t work that way.
Results are not linear.
They’re exponential.
Put in 50% effort? You might get 15% return.
Go to 90%? You still might only get 50%.
But jump to 91%, and boom—you’re at 60%.
92%? You’re at 70%.
The deeper you go, the steeper the return.
It’s a curve, not a straight line.
This is why people get discouraged.
They put in effort, but not enough to reach the tipping point. Then they quit, thinking it’s not working. In reality? They were just a few degrees short of the boil.
[DISCLAIMER]
This may be a serving group and maybe serving isn’t your lifelong purpose. That’s okay, it’s not mine either. But here’s the truth: whatever chapter you’re in, whatever role you’re playing right now, it deserves your full energy and focus.
(I will have a separate discussion post about this)
FINAL REMINDER
▪ Water doesn’t boil at 99°C.
▪ Recognition doesn’t come from 80% effort.
▪ Success lives at the edge of discomfort.
