Had to make a quick run to Vintage Liquor after Jenna let me know something special was coming in. Soon as she said E.H. Taylor Barrel Proof, I told her I needed that in my life. Picked it up without hesitation. Swung by the Chateau and grabbed a Plasencia Alma del Cielo to go with it, and now I’m set for Thanksgiving. Looking forward to firing up the grill, being around good people, enjoying a great cigar, and sipping an amazing whiskey. Moments like that remind me what life’s really about.

Great pairing tonight with an Undercrown 10 and a dunkel from KC Bier. The chocolate notes of the cigar pairs nicely with the toasted hops of the beer. I am also drinking a healthy dram of Same Old Moses Tawny Port finished bourbon. The sweetness of the port is blending perfectly with the fragrance of the cigar. I'm a huge Undercrown fan and have smoke dozens but this is the first I've had of the 10 and I am impressed. It's not too spicy and a little less full strength than what I usually go to but it has an almost fragrant note in the smoke and the retrohale. It is tasting wonderful and I'm glad I have a few more that have come in sampler packs for me to enjoy!
