Fit for Spain…
Well... this wasn't quite the plot twist I was expecting! 🤣🇪🇸 When I started The Spanish Social, I thought I was creating a community around everything I love about Spain... the food, the sunshine, the slower pace of life, the beautiful villages and that feeling of being completely present. And don't get me wrong... I still absolutely love all of that. But here's the funny thing... Coaching keeps following me around like a stray cat that refuses to take the hint. 😂 No matter how many times I think, "No, I'm just going to post about Spain..." I somehow end up talking about strength, movement, confidence and living well. Then it hit me... It's never really been about Spain. It's been about how I want to feel in Spain. I want to be the woman who wanders the steep streets of Frigiliana without worrying about the hills. Who parks miles away from the mercadillo and doesn't think twice about the walk. Who lifts her own suitcase, explores all day and still has enough energy for an evening paseo and a glass of rosé. Watching my mum's world become smaller has changed how I think about getting older. And I don't want that for me. Or for you. So I'm not gatekeeping what I'm learning anymore. I'm launching Fit for Spain. 🇪🇸💚 Not because I want women to have a "holiday body." But because I want us to have holiday freedom. To keep saying yes. To keep travelling. To keep exploring. To keep our worlds big. If you're here because you love Spain, don't worry... that's not changing. We're just adding something that I believe is even more important. Because the strongest souvenir we can bring home... ...is a body that's ready for the next adventure. ☀️

🇪🇸 Weekend Challenge: Make Everyday Life Your Workout
This weekend, don't worry about getting a "proper" workout in. Instead, look for opportunities to make ordinary life a little more physical. Please choose challenges appropriate for your current fitness level and build gradually. 🥾 Find a hill Choose a walk that includes a few hills or steeper roads. Why? Walking uphill challenges your heart and legs and helps build strength and stamina. Hill walking is recognised as both aerobic and muscle-strengthening activity. 🚗 Park further away When you go shopping, deliberately park at the far end of the car park. Why? Those extra minutes of walking add up — and you're building the habit of finding movement rather than avoiding it. 🛍️ Carry your shopping Don't automatically grab the trolley if you only have a few bags to carry. Why? Carrying groceries is a real-life strength activity — your muscles don't care whether the weight is a dumbbell or a bag of potatoes! 🪜 Choose the stairs If there's a choice between the lift and stairs, take the stairs when they're appropriate for you. Why? You're giving your legs a little strength and conditioning session without actually going to the gym. ☕ Take the scenic route Need to pop somewhere nearby? Walk a slightly longer route. Why? We're trying to build a life where movement is simply part of the day — not something we have to squeeze into an already busy schedule. 🇪🇸 THE POINT? We're not training just to be fit. We're training so that when we're walking the hills of Frigiliana, exploring a pueblo, carrying our shopping from the mercadillo or wandering around a new Spanish town our bodies are ready for the adventure. That's Fit for Spain. Strong enough for the life you love. 💚🇪🇸 💬I’d love to hear from you… let me know which challenges you to and how you got on!

Solar Eclipse
On one of he hottest days in the UK we had solar eclipse, while we all donned our ‘special’ glasses and waited for the moment we almost hit totality, while parts of Spain were lucky to be seeing a total eclipse. I don’t think many people realised the awe inspiring scale of this once in a generation astronomical event. I hope you enjoyed it from wherever you stood! I didn’t get any photos but would love to know where you watched from and see yours!

🇪🇸 FIT FOR RONDA
Could you explore Ronda on foot and still have enough energy for tapas afterwards? Perched dramatically above the El Tajo gorge, Ronda is one of those Spanish places that makes you stop and say wow. Here are a few places worth exploring: 🌉 Puente Nuevo The famous bridge spanning the gorge. The views are spectacular and it's the obvious starting point for your Ronda adventure. 🌿 Alameda del Tajo A beautiful tree-lined park with spectacular viewpoints over the gorge and surrounding countryside. Perfect for a leisurely wander. 🏛️ Ronda Old Town Lose yourself among the cobbled streets, historic buildings and little squares. Wear comfortable shoes—you'll be doing plenty of exploring! 🌸 Plaza Duquesa de Parcent One of Ronda's prettiest squares, surrounded by historic buildings and gardens. A lovely place to slow down for a while. 🥾 The Gorge & Lower Viewpoints If you're feeling energetic, head down towards the gorge for those incredible views looking back up towards the bridge. Just remember—you've got to come back up! 😜 🍷 The Old Town & Local Bodegas After all that exploring, it's time to reward yourself with some local food, a glass of wine and a good old Spanish sit-down. 💚 FIT FOR SPAIN TIP Ronda is a great reminder that fitness isn't just about what happens in the gym. It's being able to spend the day wandering, climbing steps, exploring viewpoints and navigating cobbled streets without constantly thinking about whether your body can cope. We don't train so we can exercise more. We train so we can LIVE more.
