Basic Diet Considerations
🥩 Nutrition Basics – Smart Cat Society Meet On Sunday we’ll be covering the foundations of feline nutrition. Cats are obligate carnivores, meaning they are biologically designed to thrive on animal protein. Their diet must prioritise: • High-quality protein – for muscle, skin, immune and overall health• Taurine – essential for heart and eye function• Balanced calcium & minerals – especially important for growing kittens• Moisture-rich feeding – supports kidney and urinary health We’ll also discuss:• Wet vs dry food considerations• What “biologically appropriate” really means• How to use treats strategically without disrupting balance Nutrition underpins behaviour, development, and longevity. If the diet isn’t right, everything else becomes harder. See you on the 22nd. Google Meet Details to follow around 10am on day of meet

🐾 Weekly Training Bite 🐾
Training Tip: One cue, one action 🎯🐱 Cats thrive on clarity. Using multiple words or changing cues for the same behaviour can slow learning and create confusion. Why it works (PAWS Method): This aligns with PAWS – Partnership & Trust and Skills & Stage Tricks. Clear, consistent cues help your cat understand what you’re asking, feel secure in the partnership, and confidently perform the skill. 🧠🤝✨ How to apply it: • Choose one clear word or hand signal per behaviour 🗣️✋ • Ensure everyone in the household uses the same cue 🏠✔️ • Say the cue once, then wait—let your cat think and respond ⏳😺 Clarity builds confidence, and confidence fuels success—PAWS in action. 🐾💙
