Justice Is Not Always Fair
Card XI Justice asks a deeper question than whether something is simply fair. It speaks of justice, of balance, of society’s rules and the agreements we are expected to honor. In a world built on laws, norms, and decisions made both by us and for us, Justice reminds us that what feels fair on a personal level is not always the same as what society considers just. There is more to it than that, though. After going through an inner process in cards 1 to 9 of the Major Arcana, we come to a turning point with 10, Wheel of Fortune — the beginning of a new phase, but now together with everyone around us. The awareness that my rules may work for me, but perhaps are not in balance with society, and that society has rules that may seem completely crazy to me. Both in the big picture and in everyday life — because maybe you do not like getting a parking ticket when you parked wrong, stayed too long, or simply did not pay. Society, however, says that is how it should be. Unfortunately, many people see XI Justice as a divorce card, which I do not entirely agree with unless the card appears reversed. To me, it is more about marriage — an agreement entered into between two people, but one where society is the one making the final decision. To get married is not something we can do without having our legal right to marry approved by society, and then the person officiating the ceremony must also be approved by society. So decisions and agreements with this card mean that at least two parties are involved, along with society’s decision-makers. The same applies to divorce, when an agreement is to be broken — society’s approval is still needed for it to be valid. Justice can also be about tests — tests of patience, of decision-making, and of trust. In The Rune Witch Tarot, the astrological symbol is Sagittarius, the sign that more than any other seeks justice and truth. The rune is Naudiz, the need rune, which speaks of the consequences of decisions. The crystal is Hematite, the stone of protection, balance, and the grounding needed to stand steady.

6 of Cups
If you didn’t know, I’m Swedish and moved to Spain 6 1/2 years ago (my Spanish is still not what I wish it was). But I’ve been thinking about two things. The first is that learning to read Tarot, to me, is a bit like learning a new language. Every card carries a word, and that word can also expand into synonyms and different shades of meaning. Reading cards together is a little like solving a riddle or a rebus, one word from each card creating a sentence. Sometimes we have to turn those words around, look at them from another angle, and let them shift until the right meaning appears. Starting by learning one word for each card is a good beginning, just like learning single words in a new language before slowly building sentences. I’ve been thinking about this a lot while trying to learn Spanish, because in many ways it feels similar to learning Tarot. First come the words, then the sentences, and after that, the next step is learning to hold simple conversations — until eventually we find the rhythm that allows us to go deeper. The second thing on my mind right now, and the reason I chose both the song and the card 6 of Cups, is that we Swedes celebrate Midsummer on June 19–20. It’s a weekend when family and friends gather, eat traditional Midsummer food (among other things potatoes and pickled herring, and of course strawberries), spend time together, and celebrate summer. To me, the 6 of Cups is the little family card, a card about loving togetherness with those closest to us. It’s a sweet card, full of warmth and joy. In The Rune Witch Tarot, this card also carries Jupiter in Scorpio to show deep connection and togetherness, Dagaz/Bjarkaz as a bindrune to represent insight and roots, and Chrysopal to reflect a deep spiritual feeling of love. Together, they offer a wholeness of feeling that can help you heal yourself and release prejudice, limitations, and fears around other people. Yiang Green/Turquoise is there to show harmony and change, and Rose to represent love. The power animal is the Iguana, symbolizing closeness and nearness.

✨ Two of Cups ✨
This week, I have drawn several Twos in my daily cards. Yesterday it was the Two of Wands, and today the Two of Cups. To me, the number two often speaks of balance, harmony, partnership, and finding the right flow between different parts of life. Right now, I can feel that balance. I have created a new home for The Rune Witch Tarot, a place dedicated to the deck and the courses connected to it. At the same time, I am working on completing the rune interpretations that form another important part of this journey. The affirmation songs for the cards are part of my simple course, Tarot & the Law of Attraction, available at www.thetarot.academy. Perhaps today's Two of Cups is inviting us to find balance in our feelings, trust our connections, and appreciate the harmony that already exists within and around us. 🎵 Today's affirmation: Two of Cups
