One mistake newer reps make is running every appointment without pre-qualifying the homeowner first. That leads to wasted drive time, low close rates, and homeowners who were never serious.
Before you confirm the inspection, ask a few simple questions.
Basic Pre-Qualifying Questions:
- Are you the homeowner?
- How old is the roof?
- Have you noticed leaks or damage?
- Have you filed or considered filing an insurance claim?
- Are you looking to repair or replace the roof?
- When are you hoping to get the work done?
These questions do three things:
- Confirm they’re a real decision maker
- Give you context before you arrive
- Increase your close rate because you walk in prepared
You’re not interrogating them — you’re making sure the inspection is actually worth both of your time.
The best reps don’t just run more appointments.
They run better appointments.
