🌿 Coming Home to Constructive Action: A Somatic Practice for Centered Alignment
Each month, we return to our VISION—to reflect on how we have stayed ALIGNED with what MATTERS most and how we’ve HONORED OUR INTENTIONS in a world that can often feel overwhelming. Between the emotional poles of anxiety (too much activation) and apathy (too little engagement) lies a vital middle space:constructive, embodied action. In this middle space, we reconnect with a sense of inner knowing and the wisdom of our body. This is where somatic intelligence lives—where your nervous system becomes a resource rather than a runaway train. “Close enough is good enough. Done is better than perfect.”—Jurie Rossouw ✨ Somatic Centering Practice: Grounded Forward Motion Purpose: Reconnect to your core, release emotional overwhelm or numbness, and align with your values through gentle, embodied action. 🌀 Step 1: Arrive Sit or stand comfortably.Place one hand on your sternum (heart center), and one on your lower belly.Breathe deeply into both. Let your breath anchor you. This supports your somatic center and invites connectedness. 🦶 Step 2: Ground Feel your feet.Lightly stamp your heels or shift your weight side-to-side, awakening your contact with the earth.Let yourself feel held. You do not need to carry everything alone. 🦴 Step 3: Rock & Root Begin a gentle rocking of your pelvis, forward and back—slow, deliberate. This movement engages deep core muscles (like the psoas) that connect to our sense of self and direction.Say internally: “I am here. I have choice. I can act.” 🤲 Step 4: Reach Slowly reach one hand forward, as if you’re reaching for something meaningful—an idea, a person, a possibility.Pause.Ask yourself gently: “What is one small, right action I can take today that reflects my deepest values?” It doesn’t have to be big. Just aligned. 💗 Step 5: Return Bring your hand back to your heart.Breathe into that connection.Feel the shift in your state. Let this be enough. 💬 Group Reflection Prompts REPLY BELOW: - What has helped you stay centered and aligned this month? - When have you found yourself in anxiety or apathy?
