Hello Reset Roomers,
I am on a 2-day trip to Auckland New Zealand, whilst here I was inspired to record this video on how quickly we judge.
From the book 6 Blind Elephants, this short story from the book highlights how quickly we can judge people. And how wrong we can be when we have a very limited scope of information. When we find out more about what is happening, our perspective changes. Our emotions change. Our experience changes.
The goal of this book is to encourage us to change the labels we give and to hold judgement when we have limited information about what is really going on.
We can do this on our self judgement.
We can become aware that we are deleting, distorting and generalizing reality out of existence.
When we access more of our experiences, within the labels we give, we can start to filter life very differently. Changing our lives, our emotions and our actions.
Where have you judged yourself, where you have ignored all the good things going on?
Where have you judged others, where you don't really know what happened to them today that may explain their behaviour?
Where can you ask better questions; to acknowledge you don't have the whole story, where you can label an experience more appropriately and more usefully.
Change your scope, change your emotions.
Enjoy this quick video.
Warm regards, Matt.
PS be sure to comment anywhere you notice you can expand your awareness using better selection of memories and labels. This will reset your loops of assumptions to more useful results.
