Do you ‘deserve’ rest?
Mercy - not getting what you do deserve
Grace - getting what you don’t deserve
Both require judgement and give the impression that something is to be earned
When we feel that way about rest, we can drive ourselves to burnout because deep down, we don’t feel like anything we do will ever be ‘enough’
So we need to make a shift
You don’t earn the right to rest
Rest IS the right
And the bonus is that when you practice rest as a right, it gives you the energy to do what you’re doing, well
More energy = more focus
More focus = less mistakes
Less mistakes = less correction
Less correction = more time
More time = more energy
So what judgement are you casting over yourself that makes you feel like you still have to earn rest?
What time horizon are you giving yourself which makes everything urgent and a now problem?
What story about your past are you trying to overcompensate for?
What issue do you care about so deeply that you feel only you can deal with it within your lifetime?
Let’s discuss in the comments
