A Gentle Check-In Before You Push Forward
Before continuing with something that feels heavy — routines, transitions, expectations, conversations — it can help to pause and check a few things first.
You might ask yourself:
  • Do I have the capacity for this right now?
  • Is my child regulated enough to engage?
  • Is something else contributing to the difficulty?
  • Would slowing down reduce pressure rather than add to it?
Sometimes the most supportive choice isn’t pushing through — it’s pausing.
Pausing isn’t giving up. It's information.
