From 'Future Me' to 'Right Now Me'
The new module of Life Purpose Course was such a powerful reminder that vision is about a clarity of feeling, not a detailed plan. The feeling I enjoy most: that electric, flowing energy of being in a room with people, leading a workshop when everything just clicks. I’ve had that feeling thousands of times in the past as an instructor, and I absolutely love it. When I did the “two timelines” exercise, my “if I continue as I am…” path actually looked pretty good – I can see myself in a solid place with my online community. But the “if I live with courage and according to my values…” path felt very different: that version of me is doing both live and online workshops, regularly stepping into that group-flow state. The future self visualisation showed me that it doesn’t really matter where I wake up in five years (although waking up by a lake would be nice). What matters is that there are people gathering and waiting for me – to be with them, support them, and help them feel good! “The future doesn’t arrive – it unfolds from what you are doing right now” really stayed with me. I realised I don’t need to wait for the “perfect” room, venue, or timing to practice what I love. For now, it might look like me in my living room, in front of a camera, showing up as if those people are already there – and letting that be my bridge between online and in-person work. Curious: where does everyone imagine themselves 5 years from now? Thank you, Dawn, for this module – I didn’t realise how much I needed this kind of gentle nudge from my future self.
