Why measure putts when practicing?
I don’t measure so that I know how far to take the putter back. I measure so my body knows what it looks like and feels like. Any good athlete measures how far the ball has to be rolled/thrown/shot by visual instinct. Greens will play a different speed every hole. Your brain will recognize this. By practicing with a measurement device you are giving it helpful feedback.

When you are standing over a short putt, what usually changes first?
Not what you want to happen. Just what you notice. • your grip • your pace • your eyes • your breathing • nothing at all One word is plenty.
When you miss a short putt, what’s the first thing you notice?
Not what you tell yourself. Just what you notice first. • speed • line • contact • tension • something else One word is plenty.

Have you ever tried to think your way to a better putting performance?
At some point, most golfers experiment with: - tips - articles - books - mental cues Sometimes they help. Sometimes they just add noise. Looking back, do you feel like your best putting showed up when you were: A) thinking more B) thinking less C) not sure No need to explain — just curious.
