Abawashded ( Good Day ) everyone, If you're reading this, I just want to say thank you for being here. It genuinely means a lot to me. My name is Alexei Fastlightning, and I'm from Alexis Nakota Sioux Nation in Alberta. I grew up on the rez, and for a long time, I believed my life would probably look like the lives I saw around me. Not because I didn't have dreams, but because I didn't know what was possible. I didn't grow up around entrepreneurs, business owners, or people building the kind of life I hoped to have one day. There was no blueprint. I was just another kid trying to figure life out. Looking back, I don't think I was missing potential. I think I was missing exposure. The moment I started seeing different ways to live, different ways to think, and different people building lives I had never imagined, something changed. For the first time, I realized that where I started didn't have to determine where I finished. That's the reason I started documenting my journey. Not because I thought I had everything figured out, but because I hoped that if another young person saw someone who came from a place like theirs building something meaningful, maybe they'd begin to believe they could too. Over the last couple of years, I've had the opportunity to travel, build businesses, speak to young people across Canada, and meet people I never imagined I'd meet. Every experience has taught me something, but every time I come home, I think about the kid I used to be. I think about how much earlier my life could have changed if someone had simply shown me what was possible. I can't go back and change that for myself, but maybe I can help create that opportunity for someone else. That's why I built The Pursuit. I didn't build it because the world needed another online community. I built it because I wanted to create the place I wish I had when I was starting. A place where people encourage each other, hold each other accountable, share what they're learning, ask questions without feeling judged, and remind one another that growth doesn't happen overnight. It happens one decision at a time.
