“Welcome to Present Parent 👋
👋 Welcome to The Present Parent Project If you’re here, there’s a reason. Maybe you’re separated from your child…Maybe it’s distance, work, military life, or something else…Maybe you just feel like you’re missing the small moments that matter most. Whatever brought you here—you’re not alone. I want to share something personal. I’ve been on both sides of this. I’ve been the parent who was there every day—the primary caregiver, fully involved, present in all the little moments. And I’ve also been the parent separated from my child…feeling that distance, that weight, that question in the back of your mind: “Am I doing enough?” That shift is hard. And it changes everything. I’ve seen it in myself—and I’ve seen it in so many other parents. The sadness. The frustration. The feeling of being disconnected… even when you care deeply. And the truth is—it’s not because you’re a bad parent. It’s because you don’t have the right systems, support, or tools. That’s why this community exists. They say it takes a village to raise a child… But for many of us, our village isn’t down the street. It's spread across cities, states—even countries. So we’re building a new kind of village. 👉 One that uses connection, intention, and technology👉 One that helps you stay present—even from a distance👉 One that reminds you that you’re still an important part of your child’s life Inside this community, we focus on: ✔ Building real emotional connection ✔ Creating simple, consistent routines ✔ Communicating in ways that actually matter ✔ Supporting each other without judgment You’ll also see:– Ideas and activities to stay connected– Live sessions, coaching, and expert insights– Tools (and even an app in development) to help you stay involved daily But most importantly: This is a place where you don’t have to pretend you’ve got it all figured out. You can show up as you are. 🚀 Start Here 1. Introduce yourself in the community 2. Share your situation (only what you’re comfortable with) 3. Check out the “Start Here” section for your first steps

🟢 Community Rules
1. Be Positive This is a space for encouragement and growth. Focus on solutions, support, and progress so everyone feels uplifted and motivated. 2. No Self-Promotion This community is about connection, not selling. Share to help, not to promote, so we keep the focus on supporting each other. 3. Make an Effort Show up, participate, and engage. The more you put in, the more you’ll get out of this community—for you and your child. 4. No Judgment Every parent’s situation is different. We never know the full story, so we lead with understanding, compassion, and respect. 5. No Co-Parent Bashing We know it can be hard. There will be space to process challenges, but here we focus on what we can control—how we show up for our children. 🎯 Closing Line (Optional to Add) 👉 This is a space for growth, connection, and becoming the parent your child needs.

Long-Distance Parenting: A Co-Parenting Guide for Divorced and Separated Parents
You don’t have to live with your child to be present in their life. Distance makes parenting harder—but not impossible. Most parents struggle not because they don’t care……but because they don’t have a system. Here’s what actually works 👇 1. Structure creates connectionConsistency matters more than intensity.Regular calls, predictable routines, and clear schedules build trust. 2. Communication > PerfectionKeep it calm, focused, and about your child. No conflict. No putting your child in the middle. 3. Stay involved in the little thingsHomework. Activities. Daily life. That’s where real connection is built. 4. Adapt to your child’s ageWhat works for a toddler won’t work for a teen.Connection evolves—your approach should too. 5. Presence is intentionalIt’s not about being there physically…It’s about showing up consistently, emotionally, and meaningfully. Most parents try harder. The ones who succeed build systems. That’s what we do here inside The Present Parent Project. 👉 If you’re ready to stop feeling distant and start feeling connected—this is for you.
