Today's Seniors Grew Up with Live Music
I just learned that Jeff, a guy who I hung out with and played in a rock band with when we were in high school recently died. I lost track of him after we graduated back when dinosaurs roamed the earth. I found a photo of our band playing at a formal prom in Saint Clair, PA from back around 1968. I was around 15 or 16 at the time. LOL, I was playing my Fender Mustang guitar through a Bogen PA connected to a homemade speaker cabinet with a reverb unit about the size of a Fishman Loudbox Artist. My friend Jeff was playing the organ, but unfortunately he was on the side that the photo did not capture. LOL, we ended up playing at this prom because the band that they hired did not show up. We were practicing that night when we got the call, so we quickly packed up, showed up in beat-up clothes and performed. Note, the kids (HS seniors) dancing are now the seniors (still kids) we perform for. Hey Jude, don't let me down...
