Another of my Poems inspired by my love of Rumi
The Broken Cup
after “The Cracked Mug”
You don’t need to be whole to hold the wine.
My heart has a hairline fracture
running down its left side.
In the dark, light slips through.
I used to beg for mending.
Now I tilt the cup just so,
and what pours out isn't loss—
it's the first honest drink I've ever tasted.
Rumi said the wound is the place where the light enters.
I say: the crack is the mouth
that finally knows how to sing.
With Love ❤️
Always
