5 Quick and Easy Things to Try Right NOW
1. Breathe: Slow, deep breaths can help lower blood pressure and heart rate. Try pranayama breathing, a yogic method that involves breathing through one nostril at a time to relieve anxiety. The technique is supposed to work the same way as acupuncture, balancing the mind and body. 2. Count Backward: When worries are running rampant, try slowly counting to 10 and then back again to calm down. It’s harder to freak out about an upcoming exam or job interview when you’re busy remembering what number comes before seven. 3. Stretch: Standing up for a quick stretch can relieve muscle tension and help you relax during a stressful workday. Try a shoulder roll-out or a chest-opening stretch right from the desk chair. 4. Be Alone: Take a “bathroom break” even if you don’t need to go. Five minutes of alone time can help you collect your thoughts and clear your head. 5. Give Yourself a Hand Massage: When there’s no professional masseuse in sight, try DIYing a hand massage for instant relaxation that calms a pounding heart. Hands in general can carry a lot of tension. Apply some lotion and start kneading the base of the muscle under the thumb to relieve stress in the shoulders, neck, and scalp.
Soon To Be Nursing Student
I am EXCITED to be here, I will soon start my journey as a nursing student this July and can't wait to learn from each of you.
Hello everyone! 👩‍⚕️
It’s a pleasure to be here and connect with fellow nurses. My name is Joanna, and I’m a nurse by profession with a passion for caregiving and supporting others. About three months ago, I ventured into the world of eCommerce, starting my own online business. It’s been an exciting journey filled with learning, growth, and plenty of challenges — but I truly enjoy the process of building something of my own while still staying true to my passion for helping people, just in a different way. Although I’m currently focused on growing my business, my nursing background continues to shape how I approach both life and work — with care, compassion, and dedication. I’m looking forward to learning from this wonderful community, sharing experiences, and supporting one another as we grow both personally and professionally. Thank you for having me! 💙
asking better questions
"why am I always drained, even after a full night’s sleep?" "why do I feel guilty taking time for myself?" "why does my job feel more overwhelming at times than fulfilling?" if you’ve asked yourself these questions, you’re not alone. frontline healthcare workers give everything to their patients, but who’s looking out for you? my coach once told me: the questions you ask shape your reality. keep asking disempowering questions, and you’ll stay stuck in exhaustion and overwhelm. instead, try asking: 👉 "how can i take care of myself without feeling guilty?" 👉 "what small boundary can i set today to create work-life harmony?" 👉 "who can i turn to for support so i don’t carry this burden alone?" these small shifts change everything.
