Why Prayer Often Came After A Shower
Ever noticed how active the mind becomes in the shower?
Planning
Replaying conversations
Thinking ahead
Solving problems
The body is under the water…
but the mind is everywhere else.
Traditionally, many people were taught to pray straight after a shower.
As children, we followed it as a routine.
But maybe there was something deeper in it.
The shower gave a few minutes of uninterrupted “me time.”
A space where the mind could easily drift far away.
And immediately after…
there was a pause.
A prayer.
Eyes closed
Hands together
Attention returning
Almost like a way of saying: Come back here now.
Before entering the day fully.
And maybe prayer was not only about asking for something.
Maybe it was also about surrendering.
Putting down worries for a moment.
Leaving the mental noise behind…
before stepping into the day.
Today, most people finish a shower…
and instantly pick up the phone.
The mind never really returns.
It just keeps running.
Try something different tomorrow.
After your shower…
pause for a few seconds…
before doing anything else.
Take one deep breath.
Close your eyes.
And simply arrive.
Presence is built in small moments.
🎯 Tomorrow morning: Don’t rush from shower → phone → day.
Pause first.
Let the mind come back before the day begins.
