Afia's Homecoming: Queen on a Mission! 🇬🇭
👑 Afia's Homecoming: Queen on a Mission! 🇬🇭 Akwaaba! 👋 My name is Afia, which in my proud Ashanti culture means "a girl born on Friday." My new mission in life is to become the Diaspora Homecoming Queen of Ghana! This community is dedicated to sharing my most profound journey yet: a true homecoming back to Ghana with my three incredible sons, Kwaku, Kofi, and Kwadwo. My Why: Raising Gifts for the World My sole purpose—the "why" that fuels every step—is to raise these three boys to be intelligent, prosperous, and humble young men who will be a gift to the world. My life has been one of movement and culture. As one of four children, I was blessed with parents who traveled the world, instilling in me a deep curiosity. I have journeyed across the globe, from Saudi Arabia (Riyadh, Mecca, Jeddah) to Pakistan, India, Egypt, Turkey, France, Amsterdam, and Germany, eventually landing in America. No matter where I lived, I have always held fiercely to my African roots. ✈️ Our True Homecoming & Sankofa My story is unconventional—I married my husband in Ghana after just 12 days! And while the marriage did not last, the gifts I received from that chapter are fruitful for the rest of my life: my three precious sons. I am now a single mother dedicated to their journey. Though I've been back-and-forth, it's been 17 years since my sons have touched the soil of Ghana. This is a powerful, true homecoming for our family, and my page will chronicle every step. We are embodying the Ghanaian concept of Sankofa: "to go back and get it." It means drawing wisdom from our past and heritage to move forward with a stronger identity. Join me on this magnificent journey of return, heritage, and family! Follow along as we share the culture, history, and beauty of Ghana. Let’s go!
