Welcome to The Lift Society
Welcome to The Lift Society The fact that you're here tells me something about you already. You're not waiting on someone else to build the future. You didn't settle for an iPhone and a social media account and accept that as we're living in 'The Future'. You remembered the flying cars, hoverboards, and cities in the sky from movies like 'The Fifth Element', 'Blade Runner', 'Back to the Future II', and shows like 'The Jetsons' and said, 'That's the future I was promised, and I'm not givin' up on it'. That makes you a Futurist. Every member here has a voice. Standard Members comment on any post, read Results in full, view the Founding Members directory, and vote on the annual $1,000 funding award. Founding Members aren't just supporters. They're the literal backbone of progress into the golden age of technology. There's no sci-fi future without them. Founding Members, send me your photo, a short bio, an intro video, and a link to your work, and I'll add you to the Founding Members directory, a hall of fame of sorts for the pioneers who showed up first. VIP Members are also recognized with a full-length YouTube interview and a carved wall plaque with your name and business name. Start here: 1. Introduce yourself in the comments below 2. Tell us what brought you here 3. Founding members, send me your photo and bio to be added to the Founding Members directory I will be reading every introduction personally. Now tell me: if gravity control existed tomorrow, what would you build first?
Who Gets to Build Tomorrow?
When we picture advanced research, we tend to picture enormous laboratories and institutions. But expertise exists everywhere. Engineers retire. Machinists experiment after work. Technicians build things in garages. Inventors spend decades pursuing problems independently. The Lift Society exists to widen the doorway. Your involvement helps us find capable people whose work might otherwise remain invisible and build a funding base capable of putting resources behind the strongest of them. The future shouldn't depend entirely on whether an inventor has the right institutional address. With your help, we'll find the builders wherever they are. Talent is distributed far more widely than research funding. Where do you think we're least likely to look for the person who might invent something extraordinary?

Show the Work
Big ideas are easy to talk about. Hardware, procedures, controls, measurements, documentation, and repeatable results are harder. That's where a promising concept begins earning the right to become something more. When you become a Founding Member, you'll help us support researchers willing to do that difficult work. With your help, we'll turn unconventional ideas into evidence, evidence into engineering, and engineering into technologies capable of moving humanity forward. What part of your current project are you ready to show?

Failure Is Data
A failed prototype doesn't necessarily mean wasted money. If the experiment was designed properly, failure eliminates possibilities, exposes bad assumptions, and tells the builder what needs to change. The road to tomorrow is going to have broken parts scattered along it. When you become a Founding Member, your support gives builders room to test, fail, learn, and try again. With your help, we'll fund progress instead of demanding perfection on the first attempt. That's how we'll build the future together. What's the most useful failure you've ever had?

Would You Fund the Long Shot?
Imagine two projects competing for funding. One has a very high probability of producing a modest improvement to existing propulsion technology. The other has a low probability of success, but if it works, it could fundamentally change transportation. There is a legitimate case for funding either one. The Lift Society exists partly because someone needs to make room for that second category. When you participate, support, and eventually help us fund serious experimental work, you're helping create opportunities for ideas whose potential may be enormous precisely because they aren't incremental. With your help, we'll give some of those long shots their chance. We'll build the future together. The safest investment may produce the most predictable tomorrow. The calculated long shot might produce a different tomorrow entirely. How much risk should we accept when the potential technological payoff is enormous?
