The Language of Audio is a community created by Peter Thomson of The Audio Lab for people who want to understand sound more clearly and make better audio decisions without hype, snobbery, or vague reviewer language.
Audio discussions are often confusing because the words people use to describe sound are inconsistent, subjective, or borrowed without real understanding. This community exists to make those conversations clearer.
Inside, we explore how sound, systems, rooms, recordings, and listeners interact, and how to describe what we hear in ways that are more useful and less confusing.
Members can ask questions about systems and setup, learn how to interpret audio reviews, discuss music and listening experiences, and improve the systems they already own.
This is a calm, technically grounded space where beginners are welcome, curiosity is encouraged, and thoughtful discussion is valued over hype or prestige.
