My journey to healing has been a long one. Sometimes we don’t even realize that what we’ve experienced was trauma or abuse. Often, our emotions can dictate our actions and can make us want to isolate and avoid so we don’t get hurt again. It’s important to remember that we are all on our own separate path and healing takes time. It isn’t always a straight line; most often it’s a series of ups and downs and that’s okay! What’s important is having a community of like minded friends who can support us along the way and share ideas that have been valuable and transformative.
