Getting honest with myself.
It’s unbelievable what you can gain in your struggle of life by simply stopping, evaluating yourself, being real with yourself and taking action towards a better you. This simple app has made it incredibly easy to be a better me, better dad, husband, son and brother. I’m a recovering addict of the past 6 years and dabbling here and there before that. So it’s being a struggle seeking help. Now starting to work the 12 steps with a sponsor.
I was raised to always keep working keep pushing and it gets better. I don’t disagree with that as long as while you’re in that grind you’re pushing yourself to also do things for yourself you wouldn’t normally do. It’s been so easy for me to fall back to the comfortability of laziness and no self progression but just getting through each day. I joined this Legacy because not only was I wanting to support a life long brother but he made it so simple to see just how easy it was for me to be better. The layout of the app is easy for me to pop open and see what 5-15 min thing I can do and work on to be better today. Nothing works if you don’t work for it. We’re on our phones all the time, why not read about the simple things you could do throughout your day. It’s helping me be more open and honest with myself but also getting to reach out to other dad’s experiencing similar struggles in the day to day dad life. 3 kids and and Amazing wife has been a struggle for me to keep up with, but since I’ve joined this brotherhood I can honestly say I’m glad I have somewhere to look and see the simple in how to be better. I hope this brotherhood impacts you as it has impacted my life so far.
