Stop burning through Claude tokens 👀
Okay so can we talk about this real quick because I was doing the most and didn't realize it.
If you're using Claude and hitting that usage limit faster than you think you should be, it's probably how you're prompting.
Here's what I changed:
Instead of sending a follow up message every time Claude gets it slightly wrong, I hit EDIT on my original prompt and regenerate. That's it. Every new message you send makes Claude re-read the whole conversation from scratch. You're basically paying twice for the same thing.
I also stopped uploading the same docs over and over. if you're in a Project, upload it once and it stays cached. Done.
And batching if you have three things you need, put them all in one prompt. Not three separate messages. Three messages equals three context loads.
The other thing that changed everything for me was going into Settings and saving my tone and style preferences so I don't have to explain myself every single chat. That setup tax adds up.
