When Scripture asks, “Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord?” it is calling us back to a life of nearness, purity, and holy pursuit. One translation calls it ascending the mount of God which is a place of higher vision, deeper intimacy, and spiritual authority. According to Psalm 24, the ones who ascend are those with clean hands which signifies believers who are choosing, day by day, to let their actions honor God. Clean hands don’t mean perfect hands; they mean willing hands, surrendered hands, hands that release what God says let go of and embrace what God calls righteous. Every time you forgive, obey, serve, or turn away from what dishonors Him, you climb a little higher. Your obedience becomes your elevation.
But the psalm doesn’t stop at clean hands beloved, it calls for a pure heart. A pure heart is not a flawless heart; it is an honest one. It is a heart that says, “Lord, search me, cleanse me, correct me, and lead me.” Purity is not about never struggling; it is about refusing to let the struggle rule you. God invites you to ascend not because you are perfect, but because you are pursuing Him with sincerity. So, take courage because your journey upward is not denied. As you allow God to purify your motives, heal your inner places, and align your desires with His will, you will rise. You will stand in His holy place. You will breathe the air of the mountain of God, where clarity replaces confusion and strength replaces heaviness. Cut the hinderance and climb the mountain of God because it is the Lord who receives those who seek Him.
