Upcoming topic for the Q&A
Fellow drummers; the topic for the next Q&A will be to discuss future content for the forum. That being said, one of the things that I am going to emphasize is that in order to get to the next level in drumming we often have to take a good hard look at our current abilities and the best way to do that is to record and/or video your playing. I remember many years ago when I was trying to land better gigs a teacher recommended that I video myself. I did that and boy that was a humbling experience. I remember cringing and getting less confident when I watched some of my videos. However, after several recordings, I began to notice gradual improvement in my performances. Of course, in the beginning our videos will not be ready for prime time but I can temporarily set up individual folders in the classroom section where myself and other professional players can evaluate and provide constructive criticism so that you can get feedback in a private forum. In the near future, this type of feedback will only be available on a paid tiered level however given that all of you are my "beta" testers I have no problem working with you and also helping me get a feel for this new platform. Here is a video I did many moons ago in my home studio when I lived back in DC.
Upcoming topic for the Q&A
Changing the name of the group
After some deep thought and thru several DMs, I thought it would be best to change the name of the group so that we don’t exclude musicians who are not drummers. Or at least the perception of that. It really pains me to perhaps let a guitar player, or worse yet a bass player (ughh)…😆 In all seriousness, my content will be focused on drums and the rhythm section, but I am trying to think of what is best in the long term as I move forward in investing time and resources into this platform. I was hoping to maybe schedule a Zoom or Skool call with those who might be interested in a group hang and hear my ideas about future content. Would Friday late afternoon work? Say 5:00 pm EST? Let me know who would be interested in a comment below.

Gordy Knudston
I studied with Gordy back in 2011 and he was instrumental in developing my hand technique. Earlier on I studied with Dom Famularo and although he too was a true maestro but his hand technique was based on the principals of the Moeller stroke. Gordy's Open Close really enabled my left hand to better articulate strokes particularly when it came to blues shuffles and jazz. I am forever in debt to Gordy because he was not only a great teacher but he was also a real nice guy who gave me sound professional advice even when he was busy touring with Steve Miller. Check out this video and let me know your thoughts.
Andre Ceccarelli
Have you guys heard of this guy? One of my heros. He is the main reason I decided to learn French because I really wanted to study with this maestro when I was younger. Give this quick video a listen and tell me your impressions and thoughts.
