Welcome to The Detection Dog Lab. I’m Paul Bunker—founder and Principal of Chiron K9, international instructor, researcher, author, and specialist in detection canine training and field deployment.
For over four decades I’ve worked across the military, Law Enforcement, conservation, environmental, academic and research sectors, developing evidence-based methods that strengthen canine capability and handler knowledge.
This community is where I bring all of that experience together. My goal is to create an inclusive, positive learning space where professionals, enthusiasts, and beginners can grow. Here, we explore everything from foundational skills to advanced detection concepts, buried targets, underwater detection, problem-solving, odor theory, training design, field application, and more.
