Welcome to The Homeownership Lab 🏡✨
I’m so glad you’re here—and I want you to know this first: You didn’t join The Homeownership Lab by accident. You joined because you believe homeownership is possible for you, even if the path hasn’t always been clear. This space was created to help you move from hoping to preparing with clarity, confidence, and discipline. Inside The Homeownership Lab, we focus on progress over perfection. This is a judgment-free space where we: - Build a strong financial foundation through budgeting, saving, and credit - Use simple systems and planners to remove overwhelm - Learn how to see our numbers clearly—without fear - Grow together in community, accountability, and belief “Write the vision and make it plain…” — Habakkuk 2:2 That’s exactly what we’ll do here. 👋🏾 Introduce Yourself Below Please reply to this post and share: 1. Your name 2. Where you’re joining from 3. Your homeownership or financial goal (first home, fresh start, better finances, etc.) 📚 Where to Find Everything - Classroom Tab → Trainings, lessons, and replays - Resources Tab → Worksheets and downloads - Community Feed → Coaching reminders, encouragement, and discussion I’m honored to walk with you on this journey. Welcome to the Lab—where belief meets preparation. With purpose and clarity, Brandy Tennille
DAY 6 — Check Your Budget Against Your REAL Life 📊
Pull out the budget you created in your Budget Your Life Planner. Now compare it to what you’ve ACTUALLY spent this week. This is important. Your budget says what you planned to do. Your expense tracker shows what you actually did. The gap between the two gives us information. Ask yourself: ✨ Did I underestimate a category? ✨ Did I forget certain expenses altogether? ✨ Did I overspend somewhere? ✨ Is my budget realistic for my current life? ✨ What needs to change next month? A budget that doesn’t match your real life won’t work. We aren’t abandoning the budget. We’re making it better. 👇🏾Comment DAY 6 DONE when you’ve compared your plan to your actual spending.

DAY 5 — What Could This Money Be Doing? 💰➡️🏡
Now we’re going to shift the question. Instead of: “What do I need to stop buying?” Ask: “What do I want my money to accomplish?” Could $50 become emergency savings? Could $100 go toward debt? Could $200 become part of your home fund? Could one convenience expense be redirected toward your closing costs? Your financial goals? This is where budgeting becomes bigger than restriction. Your money needs an assignment connected to your vision. 📖 Habakkuk 2:2: “Write the vision and make it plain…” Today’s question: If you freed up $100 this month, where would you intentionally send it? 👇🏾 Comment your answer + DAY 5 DONE.

DAY 4 — Find Your Money Leaks 💦
We have enough information now to start noticing patterns. Look back over Days 1–3. Where is money leaving that you didn’t intentionally plan to spend? Maybe it’s: Food delivery Subscriptions Impulse purchases Extra grocery trips Convenience fees Amazon Eating out Shopping because you’re bored We’re not looking for something to feel guilty about. We’re looking for money that could potentially be reassigned. 📖 Proverbs 27:23: “Be sure you know the condition of your flocks, give careful attention to your herds.” In today’s language: Know your numbers. 👇🏾Tell us ONE money leak you discovered, or simply comment DAY 4 DONE.

DAY 3 — Needs, Wants or Convenience? 🧐
Today, look at each expense and ask: Was this a NEED, a WANT, or CONVENIENCE? 🏠 NEED — something necessary 💕 WANT — something you chose because you enjoy it ⏰ CONVENIENCE — something you purchased because it saved time or made life easier Here’s the important part: There is nothing wrong with having wants. We simply need to know how much of our money is being directed by intention versus impulse or convenience. Today’s question: Which category surprised you the most? 👇🏾Comment DAY 3 DONE when you’ve tracked today’s spending.
