As a uniquely different-looking character actor, (I'm very short) 😆 one of the most important things you can do is get out there and meet other actors and filmmakers. Building genuine relationships opens doors to collaboration, creative growth, and new opportunities that might never come from online submissions alone. When people see your unique presence in person — your energy, your personality, your look — it leaves an impression that no headshot or résumé can capture. Networking in person reminds others that you bring something distinct to the table, something that can’t be duplicated.
I was honored to have met two great Actors/Entertainers here in Nashville. Rob Ricotta and Carter Nelms.
As a director, this is one of the things I truly enjoy — connecting with other artists who have their own unique voice and perspective. When those connections happen naturally, projects tend to grow in ways you never expect. Collaboration begins with conversation, and for actors, especially those who stand out visually or stylistically, showing up is key. It’s about being part of a creative community where your individuality isn’t just accepted, it’s celebrated. Let's connect! 🙂📽 Johnhenrysoto@gmail.com
