Leading with love like Jesus is very difficult. it requires that you love those you influence so much thatyou help them move from who they are to who God wants them to be, and that process can be painful. It is standing up, when everything around you is falling down. Leading like Jesus is combining relationship and results that honors God. Loving your followers and still serving them. This is not a soft, easy fuzzy kind of love where followers are able to do what they want to do, it requires patience, serving them, and loving them. Blanchard, Hodges, Hendry, 2016

This week we will discuss the Behavioral leadership theory. This video will give you valuable insight and discription of how you can implement this leadership theory in your leadership practice.

There are two approaches that leaders are distinguished from. One, their behavior and second, relationship behaviors. This week we will discuss the behavioral approach. As you watched the video you find that it is one that emphasizs the personality characteristics of the leader; what the leader does. The behavior of the leader is to represent the core of providing structure for followers and nurturing them. The behavioral approach reminds leaders that their actions towards others occure on a task level and a relationship level. There may be times a leader may be more tasked focused and other times building relationship with their followers. This video by John Maxwell, gives us a perspective of key principles of leading like Jesus, and what Jesus did to master people to follow Him. As followers of Jesus this video gives us the foundation of how Jesus led. What attribute is most meaningful to you in leading like Jesus?

Jesus' disciples were His followers. Jesus told them, "Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men." (Matthew 4:19). Jesus' statement communicated right at the start that if the disciples followed Him, they would become different. As they followed Jesus He would transform them. As the disciples grew, & matured, they become refined and transformed throughout their journey with Jesus. Therefore, if we are to lead like Jesus, you must have a surrenderd heart towards Him. It begins with leaders examining themselves by asking the question; (1.) Whose am ? (2.) Who am I? Tha answer defines the ultimate authority of your life. Blanchard, Hodges, Hendry, 2016
