Let’s have a real conversation ya’ll, especially my Black and Brown creators. We've been talking a lot about how AI disrupted my agency and forced me to pivot, leading to the creation of this very Lab. But that disruption isn't just a corporate problem it’s hitting our communities hard right now. The numbers are difficult: Since January, reports show that over 300,000 Black women have lost their jobs in the US. These are real people, real families, and real careers being affected by the rapidly changing economy and automation. This is why I talk so much about the AI skillset being the new basic survival skill. The Pivot: If You Can't Beat 'Em, Get Paid to Train 'Em When I realized I couldn't beat the AI revolution, I decided to join it and I found a lucrative way to do it. For the last few months, I've been taking on amazing, high-paying side jobs training AI models. I'm getting paid to do the cognitive work that teaches the AI how to be smarter, better, and ultimately, how to function. It's been a game-changer for my understanding of the tech. This is critical because if AI is going to affect us the most, we need to be the people shaping it and profiting from it. We need to be the input, not just the output.
