I teach a practical framework for staying functional under stress by combining aviation human factors with trauma science. In The Body Keeps the Checklist, I focus on a simple truth: cognition degrades predictably under pressure. When stress rises, access to memory, language, and decision-making narrows—and insight alone often isn’t enough.
My work helps people design personal SOPs and checklists based on what they already know, so those tools remain accessible when it matters most. Using principles like Aviate, Navigate, Communicate and the IMSAFE check, I translate high-performance safety systems into everyday life.
This isn’t a replacement for therapy or deeper self-reflection. It’s about sequencing—creating enough stability in the moment to make reflection accurate, decisions safer, and support easier to access. The goal isn’t perfection; it’s staying in the game long enough to choose the next right step.
