Proverbs 1 — The Beginning of Wisdom

Last night the brotherhood gathered and it was exactly what it was supposed to be.

We opened Proverbs Chapter 1 together — and if you think Proverbs is just a collection of wise sayings, this call will change your mind. Solomon wrote this as a father speaking directly to his son. Every verse is a charge. Every line is a warning or a promise.

We talked about what it actually means to fear the Lord. Not terror. Not religious performance. The kind of reverent awe that reorients everything — how you think, how you move, how you lead.

We talked about the voices that pull men away from wisdom. How they come disguised. How they appeal to comfort, to shortcuts, to the path of least resistance. And how the man who ignores wisdom doesn’t just miss out — he suffers the consequences of his own choices.
