There is something special about new beginnings.
A new adventure, a new goal, a new way of doing things can feel exciting, but it can also feel uncertain. Sometimes we wait for the perfect moment to begin. We wait until we feel more ready, more confident, or more sure of how everything will turn out. But often, God calls us to step forward in faith before we have it all figured out.
That is how many good things begin. We simply start.
This bird group is one of those new beginnings for me. It is my first post, and I just wanted to share something meaningful. This is the first bird I ever caught at my bird feeder—a beautiful cardinal. To some, it may just seem like a bird stopping by for a few moments. But to me, it means more.
My grandfather loved birds. Because of that, every time I see one, it stirs something deeper in me. The birds remind me not only of the beauty of God’s creation, but also of the memory of my grandfather. In a simple moment at the feeder, I feel closer to God, and in a tender, personal way, I also feel close to him.
That is part of why starting this group matters to me. This is not just about birds. This is about wonder. It is about paying attention. It is about pursuing something God has placed on my heart. It is about embracing a new passion and being willing to begin, even if it starts small.
Sometimes the first step toward a new goal is not a giant leap. Sometimes it is just sharing the first post. Setting out the feeder. Noticing the first bird. Trusting God with the rest.
God often uses small beginnings to awaken joy, purpose, and direction in our lives. He invites us to move forward, to try something new, and to follow the passions He has planted inside us. When we do, we often find that He was already there, waiting for us in the very thing we felt led to begin.
So today, whether it is a new dream, a new habit, a new ministry, or a new adventure, do not be afraid to begin. Go after what God has placed in your heart. Start where you are. Use what you have. Trust Him with the outcome.
A single bird at a feeder may seem small, but sometimes God uses small things to remind us of His presence, His love, and the beautiful connections He gives us along the way.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for new beginnings and for the courage to start. Thank You for the dreams, passions, and goals You place in our hearts. Help us not to be held back by fear, hesitation, or uncertainty, but to move forward in faith and trust You with each new step. Thank You for the beauty of Your creation and for the memories that remind us of the people we have loved. Thank You for how birds can draw our hearts closer to You and bring comfort through precious memories. Bless this new journey, this new group, and this new beginning. Let it be filled with joy, peace, wonder, and purpose. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
