👋 Start Here — Welcome to The Ben Pelton Plan
Welcome to The Ben Pelton Plan. This is a community for better living by design — small, deliberate practices, done consistently, across five pillars: • Breathwork — calm, focus, and control of your nervous system • Jiu-jitsu — discipline, resilience, and skill under pressure • Fitness — strength and conditioning you can sustain • Mindset — clarity, consistency, and follow-through • Wellness — sleep, recovery, and the basics done well You do not need to be advanced at any of them. You just need to start where you are. How membership works Free membership gives you access to the community, the pillar categories, member discussion, and free starter content, including the 7-Day Breathwork Challenge in the Classroom. Premium — $39/month — gives you everything in free, plus weekly live guided breathwork with Q&A, premium courses and content, and direct access to the full practice library as it grows. Upgrade any time from the group's membership settings. No pressure to upgrade on day one — settle in first. Group rules 1. Be respectful. Disagree with ideas, not people. 2. No spam, self-promotion, or outside links without permission. 3. Share wins and struggles honestly. Progress here is not performative. 4. Breathwork and training posts are education, not medical advice. Work within your own limits. 5. What members share here stays here. Your first three steps 1. Introduce yourself in the Introductions post in Community Discussion. 2. Start the 7-Day Breathwork Challenge in the Classroom — Day 1 takes under 10 minutes. 3. Pick one pillar post below, try the practice today, and comment with how it went. Glad you're here. Let's build this properly. — Ben

First Step - Introduce yourself here.
Introductions make this a community instead of an audience. Keep it simple — copy these three prompts and fill them in: 1. Who you are and where you're from 2. Which pillar brought you here — breathwork, jiu-jitsu, fitness, mindset, or wellness 3. One thing you want to improve in the next 30 days I'll go first in the comments. When someone introduces themselves after you, welcome them. One reply from a real person is what makes a new member stay. — Coach Ben
Fitness: The baseline you can repeat.
Most fitness plans fail because they're built for your best week, not your normal one. Start with a baseline so simple you can do it on a bad day. If you can repeat it, you can build on it. If you can't repeat it, it doesn't matter how good it looks on paper. Your baseline — starting today: 1. Walk for 20 minutes. Any pace, any route. 2. Then do 2 rounds of: 10 bodyweight squats, 8 push-ups (from your knees if needed), and crawling on your hands and feet for 3 yards. Rest as much as you need between movements. That's the whole session. About 30 minutes, no equipment. Do it three times this week. Same session, three times. Boring is fine — boring is what consistency looks like at the start. We add load and variety once the habit is real. Comment DONE below each time you finish it this week. Three comments is your first win here. — Coach Ben
Jiu-Jitsu: Relax under pressure
The fastest way for a beginner to get better at jiu-jitsu is not learning more techniques. It's learning to relax under pressure. When you're tense, you burn energy, you stop breathing properly, and you can't feel what your partner is doing. When you're calm, everything slows down and options appear. Try it today — in your next roll, or shadow-drilling at home: Pick one round — or 3 minutes of drilling — and make your only goal this: keep breathing through your nose, and unclench your jaw and hands every time you notice tension. That's it. No new technique. You will get passed. You will get stuck. That is the point of the drill. Notice how much more you see when you stop fighting the position and start breathing in it. Calm is a skill. Train it on purpose, the same way you train an escape. Comment below: where do you hold tension most? — Coach Ben
Breathwork
If you only learn one breathwork practice, learn this one. Box breathing is a simple way to settle your nervous system when you're stressed, wired, or can't focus. Four equal parts — in, hold, out, hold. Try it today — 5 minutes: 1. Sit or lie down somewhere comfortable. Close your eyes if you like. 2. Breathe in through your nose for a count of 4. 3. Hold gently for a count of 4. 4. Breathe out through your nose for a count of 4. 5. Hold gently for a count of 4. Repeat for 5 minutes. Keep it easy. If a count of 4 feels like effort, use 3. The pattern matters more than the number. Your shoulders should drop, not rise. Use it before training, before a hard conversation, or to wind down at night. Then tell us in the comments: what did you notice after 5 minutes? Safety note: We only practice gentle breathwork in this group — no forceful or intense techniques. Always practice sitting or lying down, never while driving or in water, and stop if you feel dizzy. This is education, not medical advice. If you are pregnant or have a heart or respiratory condition, consult your doctor before starting any breathwork practice. — Coach Ben
