👋🏾 NEW to SongLab🎧🧪 - "START HERE" 👇🏾
What’s good y’all — glad to have you here. I’m Chris Belmont, a music producer and artist development coach out of Brooklyn, NY. I built SongLab to help creators stop sitting on unfinished ideas and start building real songs, real systems, and a real catalog. This community is here to help you create more consistently, sharpen your ear, improve your writing, and get better at finishing. Think of this as the spot where you come to work on your craft, learn the process, and keep your creativity moving. If you’re new here, here’s where I want you to start: 1. Introduce yourself in the comments Tell us: - your name - what you do - what kind of music you make - what you want to get out of SongLab 2. Start with the free course: 6 Habits of Highly Creative Artists That’s the best first step if you want to understand how we think about consistency, output, and creative discipline in here. 3. Pull up to our Wednesday Mid-Week Check-ins This is where we tap in, stay accountable, and work through whatever’s getting in the way of finishing better music. 4. Share a demo or finished song for feedback. Use the DM / community post features to share 1 song with me directly (I listen to everything) and get critique. Don’t wait until it’s perfect. Bring the work in progress too. 5. Check the classroom and start upgrading your system The courses in here are meant to help you refine how you create, not just give you motivation for the day. This community works best when you participate. So don’t just scroll through it — use it. Glad you’re here. Introduce yourself below and let’s get in the lab. 🎯

WHAT IS THE SONGLAB ACCELERATOR 🎼 🧪
The SongLab Accelerator (SLA) is a structured songwriting development program for creators serious about improving their craft, finishing more records, and building a stronger catalog. Each week, members create, submit, receive feedback, revise, collaborate, and narrow their strongest songs through our 4 → 2 → 1 process. The goal isn’t just more ideas—it’s identifying the records worth investing in and actually finishing them. SLA is for creators ready to: 🔥 Write consistently 🎵 Apply feedback 🤝 Support the room 🏁 Build finished records SLA is exclusive to VIP members, and admission is by invitation ONLY. Interested? Complete the SLA Readiness Assessment below. I’ll personally review your responses, and if you’re a strong candidate, I’ll contact you with an invitation to join the VIP Membership and our exclusive SLA group. 👇🏾 Learn More + Take the Assessment: [SLA Readiness Assessment LINK] If you have any questions about this group please post your questions in the comments below 👇🏾

WHAT IS the SONGWRITING ACADEMY
SONGWRITERS ACADEMY: is the next level inside this community. Skool is where you get connected, learn, watch courses, and stay plugged into the room. But Songwriters Academy is where we get more intentional about your growth as a songwriter. This is for the creators who don’t just want to post songs and hope they’re getting better. This is for the writers who want structure, direction, live Q&A, assignments, and a real path to improving their craft. Inside SWA, we’re focused on helping you: - write stronger songs - understand song structure - build better hooks - improve lyrics and melodies - study great records - develop a real songwriting process - build a stronger catalog - get ready before opportunities show up Because opportunities are happening all around us. But when the brief, writing camp, placement, session, or collaboration shows up, you don’t want to be scrambling. You want to already be prepared. That’s what SWA is about. It’s not just more content. It’s a training ground. If you’re a casual member and you know you want to take songwriting more seriously, upgrade to at least the Premium Membership and you’ll get access to Songwriters Academy. 👉🏾JOIN THE SONGWRITING ACADEMY HERE 👈🏾 Current SWA members — drop a comment and share what your experience has been like taking the courses and attending the live Q&A sessions. 👇🏾

🏁 FINISHER WEEK: YOUR BEST SONG ISN'T ALWAYS YOUR NEWEST SONG! 🧪🎶
Happy Monday, creators! Here's something I want you to think about as we start a new week. Creating consistently is important. But learning to recognize which of your ideas deserve more attention is just as valuable. As songwriters, we're constantly chasing that next great idea. We write something on Monday, get excited about something else on Wednesday, and by Friday we're already thinking about the next record. Meanwhile, we might have something special sitting unfinished in our catalog! That's why I believe the creative process needs two important skills: The ability to GENERATE great ideas AND the ability to RECOGNIZE which ideas deserve to be finished. Inside SongLab Accelerator, this week is FINISHER WEEK! 🏁 We're going back through October's strongest records, identifying the standouts, and figuring out what needs to happen to get those songs across the finish line. And here's something important: FINISHING DOESN'T ALWAYS MEAN ADDING MORE. Sometimes it means simplifying an arrangement, strengthening a hook, improving a vocal performance, or finally making a decision you've been avoiding. 🎯 MONDAY CREATOR CHALLENGE Think about the songs you've created over the last month. Which ONE song deserves your attention right now? And more importantly, what's stopping it from being finished? Drop your song title and biggest finishing obstacle in the comments! 👇🏾 This is the kind of work we're doing inside SLA every week: creating, evaluating, collaborating, and turning ideas into records with real potential. Don't just build a folder full of demos. Build a catalog of finished music! 🧪🔥 Let's have a productive week!

🧪 SONGMATH GEM: EVERY SECTION SHOULD FEEL LIKE A HOOK!
#Welcome to SongMath™ 101 One of my favorite takeaways from our last SWA Q&A! Why save all your best melodies and cadences for the chorus? Your verses and pre-hooks should be just as intentional and memorable. That's part of what makes a song MATH! 🔥 🎧 Check out this clip from our SongMath breakdown. QUESTION: Are you giving every section of your song something worth remembering? 👇🏾
