Nobody tells you the actual timeline of building something that works. So here’s mine roughly. Month 1: you post and it feels like screaming into an empty room. every number’s basically zero, and it feels less like “too early to tell” and more like proof it’s not working. this is where most people quit basically right when zero feels like an answer instead of just… not enough time yet. Month 2-3: still quiet, but something’s shifting that doesn’t show up anywhere on the analytics page. you just get faster. the caption that used to take an hour takes fifteen minutes. you stop second-guessing the hook. nobody sees this part happening, but it’s genuinely the foundation everything after gets built on. Month 4: the first real signal shows up. not a viral post, just a comment that hits different like someone quoting your own words back to you, or a stranger who clearly gets what you’re actually about. this is the moment recognition starts quietly, way before the metrics admit it. Month 6+: this is where it stops being linear. posts that used to take a week of effort to get seen now get seen by default, because enough people already know what your content looks like before they’ve even finished reading it. this is the compounding everyone talks about, and almost nobody sticks around long enough to actually feel it. Here’s the part that’s genuinely uncomfortable though, there’s no way to skip to month 6. everyone who’s there went through the exact same silence you’re sitting in right now. they just didn’t have proof yet that it would end. what month are you in? and what’s the thing that’s made you want to quit?
