☕ See You Tomorrow AM!
Don't forget to join us tomorrow for Chapter 6! It's been powerful stuff going over this book and getting equipped with tools to help us fight anxiety! The link is on our calendar. 10:30am EST / 9:30am CST / 7:30am PST Chapter 5 Replay is Up! We discussed: Most people believe change is just a decision. You decide you’re going to stop worrying, break the habit, get disciplined, and this time it’s going to stick. But then a stressful moment hits, a random thought enters your head, and before you realize it you’re right back in the same mental rut you thought you left behind. That’s the question we started wrestling with in Chapter 5: Why does this keep happening even when we genuinely want to change? It turns out most people are trying to fix the visible behavior while the real issue is buried much deeper. We unpacked a strange example involving banana trees that refuse to die no matter how many times you cut them down. But that’s only where the conversation starts. The chapter then shifts toward something far more powerful: intentionally digging what Pastor Craig calls a trench of truth. And that’s where the Panama Canal story completely changes the perspective. Because carving a canal through mountains, disease, and impossible conditions wasn’t quick or easy. But once it was finished, the path that once took ships 13,000 miles suddenly became 50 miles. The replay is now live inside the course, and if you’ve ever wondered why certain thoughts, fears, or habits keep circling back no matter how determined you are to change them…this one is worth watching. ☕ Coffee + Book Club Tomorrow AM!
Don't forget to join us tomorrow at 10:30am EST / 9:30am CST / 7:30am PST for Chapter 5! The link to join is in the Calendar tab. I don't want you to feel pressured to share. Just come and listen. I promise you won't regret it. Also, Chapter 4 replay is up! We just started Part 2 - The Rewire Principle. Rewire Your Brain, Renew Your Mind This one was about getting under the hood. The Buick story set it up. If you're wired to the wrong power source, you will think you are broken. We talked about: • Mental ruts and how repetition builds neural pathways • The Alaska “choose your rut carefully” analogy • How the RAS filters evidence based on what you already believe • Why dopamine-based escapes (food, scrolling, drinking, shopping) get easier over time • Tracing patterns back to their origin, not just managing behavior Big moment: recognizing how unaddressed ruts bleed into our kids and relationships. The work is not glamorous. But it's necessary for real change. Stop the car. Get under the dash. Fix the wiring. A must watch. This is where it starts getting real. 🤓 Ch 3 Replay Up! See You Friday!
See you guys Friday! 10:30am EST / 9:30am CST / 7:30am PST The link is on our calendar. This chapter got practical fast. What we discussed: Chapter 3 takes the Replacement Principle and turns it into a process you can actually use. Identify the problem. Ask the probing questions. Pinpoint the lie. Then replace it with truth. Pastor Craig opens with Max the shaggy dog. The invisible fence was removed, but Max still lived like it was there. That’s the point. A lie can control your life even when the “fence” doesn’t exist anymore. We talked about why lies are so easy to believe. Our internal lie detector is flawed. The enemy’s only weapon is deception. And the target is your mind. If you believe it, your life starts moving like it’s true. We walked through real examples: overspending, self-destructive habits, and worry. Worry hit home for our industry. Trying to control every detail. Needing to know the plan. Carrying pressure that was never yours to carry. Then we went into the counter attack. You don’t fight lies with coping. You fight lies with truth. Jesus modeled it in the wilderness. “It is written.” The Word is the weapon. Your homework is simple. Find the lie by finding the problem. Find the verse. Write the declaration. Repeat it until your default changes. Next: Chapter 4 Rewire Your Brain, Renew Your Mind. You can find the replay in the Classroom tab or by tapping here #(Ch 3) Winning The War Inside Your Min
