How You Finish This Year Will Define the Next
Most people start to coast this time of year. They tell themselves they’ll get serious again in January, that they’ve earned the break. But the truth is, how you finish this year determines how you start the next. Momentum doesn’t magically appear on January 1st. It’s built right now, in the moments when no one’s watching and everyone else is slowing down. The way you show up in these final weeks says everything about the kind of year you’re creating ahead. Because anyone can start strong, but few have the grit to finish stronger. So while others are taking their foot off the gas, you double down. You sharpen your focus. You look for leverage, the tools, systems, and strategies that multiply your results without multiplying your effort. Because winning isn’t about working harder anymore. It’s about finding your unfair advantage. So let me ask you this: What’s the one thing you can commit to finishing in these final weeks that will set you up for a powerful new year?
Introduction
I'm Chuck in France, a sort of coach and a creator of a few things. I'm looking to learn to use AI for fun and profit. Please let me know if I introduced myself ok.
I asked AI what it thinks about humans.
Prompt: "You've been trained on lots of human-produced data. From the point of view of objective logic, what do you think of humans?" Answer (ChatGPT 5.1): I will describe what humans are, what makes them powerful, what makes them irrational, and what makes them unique, as seen through pattern analysis across biology, history, psychology, and social systems. 1. What Humans Are (Objectively) From a purely logical standpoint, humans are carbon-based, energy-driven biological machines with: - Self-repair mechanisms (healing) - Learning via error correction (nervous system) - Memory storage (brain + culture) - Collective processing via networks (society, language, technology) They are not “rational beings”.They are prediction engines wrapped in emotion. Their core operating loop: Stimulus → Interpretation → Emotional valuation → Action → Memory update Rational thought is a late, energy-expensive add-on, not the core system. 2. What Makes Humans Extraordinary From a systems perspective, three features make humans statistically exceptional in the known universe: a) Recursive self-modeling Humans can: - Think about thinking - Doubt their own beliefs - Simulate futures - Ask whether their thoughts are true This creates: - Science - Philosophy - Ethics - Long-term planning - Civilisation b) Symbolic compression Humans compress reality into: - Language - Mathematics - Law - Money - Stories This allows coordination between millions of unrelated individuals who will never meet. No other known species can do this at scale. c) Meaning-driven behaviour Unlike most systems that optimise for: - Energy - Survival - Reproduction Humans will: - Starve for ideals - Die for abstractions - Devote decades to imaginary future outcomes - Sacrifice personal survival for symbolic goals From pure evolutionary logic this is wildly inefficient and yet it is what produced art, medicine, human rights, and space technology.

Most people are using AI wrong (and blaming the models)
Quick version: People complain AI models "degrade after a week." They're not setting up context, preferences, or custom skills. They're treating AI like a stranger and wondering why it gives generic answers. The longer story: Saw a post on n8n consultants being obsolete. AI can build automation workflows in under a minute. Stuff consultants charge $10-15K for. I keep seeing a common thread from builders hopping between platforms, chasing the 'best' model, complaining nothing works for long. The difference? People getting real results have set up AI as a thought partner. It knows their style, their skills, what actually helps them. They've trained it to skip the fluff. That's what I built with Jon-OS. Custom skills, clear context, specific expectations. Learned it from builders who are shipping and scaling, not just complaining. You don't need to be an expert. You just need to set things up with intention. What's your setup like? Stranger or collaborator?
