Another very strong point I touch on in the Realtor Starter Course is making allies with the boomers in your office. In every office there are a handful (or many many more depending on the company) of older agents that simply keep going. They stick around into their 60's & 70's (I have seen people I their 80's still plugging away!) for one reason or another. They are still producing and still servicing their network well into their later years. Of course there is nothing wrong with this. This business is a good long-term career path for that exact reason. As long as your network will continue to hire you as their TRUSTED advisor, you can work essentially forever... Good or bad thing, who knows. But options are key in this life, so 🤷♂️.. Anyways, back to the point, befriend a boomer. These agents have a long history (usually) in the business and a large network. You (young blood) come into their world and start at the bottom of their to-do list. SHOW THEM VALUE, Host their open houses, take out their entry level buyers, give them some technological advantages (email / calendar / social / marketing / CRM / AI etc). Be their lackey, do what they don't want to & can no longer be bothered to do. From investing your time in this direction (along with everything else you are going to be doing) you are slowly but surely bringing yourself into their business. Getting to know their clients, and becoming their reliable resource. Tying up all of their loose ends & making their business lives easier. Remember the compounding effect in Marketing Tip #1? Same thing here. Always look for ways to compound your efforts. What's in it for you? Exposure to an established business and bringing yourself into their world & network. oh, and WORK! What's in it for them? They can take some time off, everything still gets covered (the good / the bad / the ugly) and they can take a break (finally). Maybe work a half day here or there.. What ever they want to do now that they have all of this newfound time on their hands..
