(Ok I’ll admit it, he didn’t say that EXACTLY lmao)
Was it brutal? Yes.
Was it accurate? Also yes.
Here’s what I realized:
Feedback only stings when it’s true.
The more open I was to hearing what sucked about my writing, the faster I improved.
If you’re avoiding feedback because it hurts, you’re avoiding growth.
Get your copy reviewed. Listen. Apply. Repeat.
Your ego will recover.
