Red flags in copywriting?
๐Ÿ‘‰ Question:
From @kimmm_001 โ€œWhen you're editing a copy, what's one red flag that tells you the copy won't convert... Even if the writing sounds good?โ€
๐Ÿ‘‰ Answer:
Good question.
Anyway, youโ€™re speaking to Tyson 4Dโ€ฆ
Would I be me if I only gave you 1 red flag?
Nahhhh, so here are a few for you to avoid:
๐Ÿšฉ No Emotional Hook Upfront
๐Ÿšฉ No WIIFM (Whatโ€™s In It For Me?)
๐Ÿšฉ Generic/bland Storytelling
๐Ÿšฉ No CTA or Weak CTA
๐Ÿšฉ Lack of Flow or Energy
๐Ÿšฉ No Stakes or Tension
๐Ÿšฉ Spelling & Grammar Mistakes
Copy can fall apart pretty quickly if the foundations arenโ€™t in place.
Focus on doing these things really well:
โœ… Curiosity Upfront
โœ… WIIFM (The reader needs to know why to keep reading)
โœ… Immersive & Engaging Storytelling
โœ… A CTA Thatโ€™s Clearly The Next Logical Step
โœ… Smooth Flow Between Sections
โœ… Push & Pull Tension To Add Movement
โœ… Easy To Read
Hope this helps ๐Ÿ’ช
