They use this term to identify brand new players that still don’t fully understand how to play. The most important thing to do is to LOCK THE DOORS! Prime example…if you leave your house with the front door unlocked and come back to your front door wide opened you must assume someone could be in your house so you either investigate yourself, or call the cops.
If you lock your front door and come home to the door knob broken and the door kicked in, you still investigate yourself or call the cops to be safe. Both result in wasting time investigating, but if a player keeps leaving doors unlocked and opened it forces players to waste time investigating and making sure victims have not breached the space vs using their needed energy elsewhere. Investigating locations where lock has been broken is a better use of energy because it’s highly likely a victim is hiding in that space, waiting for no one to look while they make an escape. It takes time to pick locks…don’t make it easier for victims LOCK THE DOORS. Unless everyone quits then you can unlock the exits to force the game to end and give players XP.
