Here’s a recent flop for me:
I had a prospect recently tell me that they wanted to work with me, but I wasn’t planning to charge them anything.
They said the fact I was doing the work for free made them uncomfortable. They’d rather pay for the service.
I refused. I said I didn’t want to monetize that specific service, but I would do it one time for free if they would consider sending me referrals.
The sale never happened.
Sometimes, free comes across as cheap.
