With the deepest sympathy and all my heart, I want to share that my dear friend Malisa has lost her son to an overdose. It’s been weighing heavy on me — it really makes you stop and think, “What would I do if it were my own child?” Those who know me know I always try to find the right words, but this time, I was at a loss. What can you really say in a moment like this? Sometimes the truest thing you can offer is a simple, “I’m here if you need me,” along with love and hugs from the heart. I took a day off from recording just to sit with this. As an empath, it’s hard not to feel it deeply, but I also know I can’t let it break me. I’ll keep moving forward while holding space for love, prayers, and comfort for Malisa and her family. I know she would truly appreciate all the love we can send her way during this unimaginable loss.
