Welcome to Take Your Power Back.
This community exists for one reason:
To help you stop living the life you inherited and start choosing the one you actually want.
Most of us were handed rules about who we should be, what success should look like, how relationships are supposed to work, what we are allowed to want, and what makes us worthy. Some of those rules still serve us. Some never did.
The work here is not to reject everything you were taught. It is to question what has been running your life, understand what it was built to do, and decide whether it still is doing what you want it to do.
Nobody here—including me—is the final authority on who you should become.
That choice stays with you.
DO THESE THREE THINGS FIRST
- READ THE COMMUNITY RULES AND SAFETY BOUNDARIES
Read the pinned Complete Community Rules post before participating. We discuss real lives and difficult subjects here, so consent, privacy, boundaries, and personal accountability are not optional.
The short version: think for yourself, own your hundred percent, and treat The Why Game as a gift—not a weapon.
- INTRODUCE YOURSELF
Go to the pinned Introduce Yourself post and tell us:
• What should we call you?
• What brought you here?
• What is one part of your life you want to examine or choose more deliberately?
Share only what you are comfortable sharing. You never owe the community your entire story.
- ANSWER THE FIRST WHY GAME PROMPT
Go to The Why Game category and answer:
What is one rule about life that you inherited but never consciously chose?
You do not need to solve it in your first post. Start by noticing it and putting it into words.
HOW TO USE THE COMMUNITY
• Start Here — Onboarding, rules, safety information, and important announcements
• Introductions — Meet the people doing this work alongside you
• The Why Game — Examine beliefs, assumptions, and inherited rules
• Taking Your Power Back — Make deliberate choices about where your time, attention, and power go
• Boundaries / Chosen Life — Build boundaries and replace inherited rules with consciously chosen guidelines
• Book Discussion: Roll a Wisdom Save — Discuss the book, its frameworks, and how they apply to real life
• Wins / Progress — Practice accountability for what is working, not only for what went wrong
• Support / Questions — Ask for help, request feedback, or say clearly when you only need to be heard
WHAT PARTICIPATION LOOKS LIKE
You do not have to post every day or have a polished answer before you speak. You do need to participate in good faith.
Ask difficult questions. Listen to answers that challenge you. Offer suggestions without trying to take control of someone else’s life. If you ask for help, honestly consider what people offer. If you only want to be heard, say so.
Discomfort is allowed here. Coercion, contempt, diagnosis, harassment, and weaponized vulnerability are not.
This community can support personal growth, but it is not therapy, crisis intervention, medical treatment, or legal advice. Professional support belongs beside this work whenever it is needed.
YOUR FIRST STEP
After you complete the three actions above, comment DONE below and tell us which of the three made you think the most.
Question everything. Figure out who you want to be.
