Online Predator Alert™ (n.)
The moment you realize that knowing someone online and knowing someone in real life are not always the same thing.
⚠️ A serious reminder.
This week, someone close to me met a person they had been talking to online.
What started as a simple drink ended in trauma.
As AI advances, fake identities, cloned voices, manipulated photos, and digital deception are becoming harder to detect.
But predators existed before AI.
And they still exist now.
Please be careful when meeting someone for the first time.
• Meet in a public place.
• Tell someone exactly where you’ll be.
• Share their information with someone you trust.
• Arrange check-in times.
• Have your own transportation.
• Trust your instincts.
This isn’t fearmongering.
It’s reality.
Most people are exactly who they say they are.
Some aren’t.
And it only takes one person with bad intentions to change a life forever.
Please don’t assume it could never happen to you.
Stay safe. ❤️
