"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?" Mathew 6:25
Comfort kills ambition, but suffering breeds growth. It is easy to get comfortable with a life that we hate because at least we can breathe. But either way you are suffering, one just hurts less in the moment. Would you rather painful suffering and grow or painless suffering and remain the same?
If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him! (Mathew 7:11) Ask and you shall receive, O you of little faith.
