Picking out the right board!
Okay Okay so first time picking out fresh board can be tricky. Most people in the surfing community is if you ride a longboard your a “Kook” which is not true! If that was true that means everyone was a cook, even me I started on a foamy. Typically what you will do is go to your local surf shop or any shop. Find a board at least 2ft taller than you, foam or fiber class. Typically Wave storms is a good one to start. Buy fins which they will help you. Then wax, and your ready go paddle out!

Getting out into the Break!
Okay so paddling out to your sandbar could be very tricky. It takes time the first couple of times depending how far your break is. Put your leash on and get to paddling. After the wave breaks it’s called white wash as you can tell. If there’s a bunch of it coming. Hop off your board and try to touch the sand. Get right back on it and keep paddling!!! Keep in mind I’m an average surfing and it’s took me 20+ minutes to get out. Timing is your friend here.

Duck Diving!

Duck Diving!
The tricky part about duck diving is foot placement! When you see a wave about to come crash on top of you, what you wanna do is place your back foot on the stomp pad or the back of the board if you don’t have one, then you grab the sides of your rails, kinda like your doing a push up. Try to push the board all the way to the sand and the board will float up and lead you behind the wave! Very very excellent trick to get to the break faster!
